HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Paintsville wins three at Doc Morris Invitational; Pikeville claims All A sectional

Paintsville wrapped up play in the Doc Morris Invitational tournament played at Bellevue with a 21-4 win over Lloyd Memorial in a game played on Saturday.

The Tigers finished a perfect 3-0 and moved to 11-2 overall.

Baron Ratliff was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. He scored one run and drove in four. Winning pitcher Ashton Miller added a pair of doubles, scored twice, and batted in five runs. Cory Jefferson and Frederick James each drove in three runs and Jonah Porter scored three times and knocked home two runs.

James Frederick singled, scored and batted in three runs as the Tigers moved to 10-2. Ashton Miller tripled, doubled, walked twice, and scored three runs while Grayson Pester and Gunner Collins each added hits and drove in one run.

Winning pitcher Aiden Fields had two hits, including a double, scored and drove in a pair of runs as the Cougars improved to 5-4. Sam Little had three singles, scored twice, and added two RBIs while Kaleb Slone had two hits and knocked in two runs.

Jonah Little had a pair of doubles and batted in one run while scoring twice for the Cougars, now 4-4. Quinton Williams and Sam Little had two hits apiece and batted in one run.

Pikeville erased an early deficit with a big second inning and the Panthers cruised to a 13-3 win over Scott County in the Pikeville Panther Classic played at Davis Park on Saturday.

Logan Windle tripled, doubled, and knocked in two runs as the Panthers won their sixth straight game. Dylan Thompson had two hits and scored two runs. Wade Hensley added a pair of singles, scored two runs, and batted in two. Sam Wright added a pair of RBIs.
