Pikeville and Paintsville both punched their tickets to the 15th Region All “A” Classic Tournament baseball title game set for tonight.
The Panthers defeated Martin County, 12-2, in six innings. Jackson Hall had a pair of hits and drove in three runs. Tate Walters added two hits and scored a pair of runs.
Dylan Thompson doubled, walked, scored one run, and drove in one on a groundout. Braydn Hall doubled and walked while scoring twice. Noah Jarrell singled, walked, scored , and added an RBI.
Bash Ryan was the winning pitcher. He struck out eight and did not walk a batter.
Dawson Mills had two hits, including a triple, and scored two runs in the loss. Evan Crum singled and had an RBI. Chase Preece was tagged with the loss.
The Tigers moved on with a 10-0, mercy-rule win over Betsy Layne.
Pitcher Grayson Peters tossed the one-hit shutout. Gunner Collins collected three hits and scored two runs while driving in one.
Zach Taylor tripled in two runs and scored. AJ James added two hits, walked twice, scored, and had an RBI. Jonah Porter tripled and singled while knocking in one run and scoring.
Michael Kidd had the only hit for the Bobcats. Byron Tackett was the losing pitcher.
Tonight’s title game will begin at 6 pm from Shelby Valley’s Dale Trivette Field.
