HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Floyd Central takes two wins in Schoolboy Classic

Floyd Central closed out play in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic with a thrilling 53-51 win over Daniel Boone (TN) at Belfry Gymnasium on Friday.

Ronnie Sammons led a trio of Jaguars in scoring with 14 points as Floyd Central moved to 8-4. Braden Moore followed with 11 and Dawson Moore tallied 10.

Ronnie Sammons aced the Jaguars with 24 points. Brody Buck tallied 18 and Braden Moore added 15. Dylan Boyd chipped in eight.

Floyd Central jumped out to an early lead and the Jaguars went on to defeat Belfry, 76-49, in the opening round played on Wednesday.

Ronnie Sammons paced the Jaguars with 24 points and Braden Moore tallied 18. Eric Burke and Chris Spriggs followed with 10 each.

Eric Daniels led the Pirates with 11 points. Cody Erwin and Noah Brown followed with 10 apiece. Jonathan Banks added eight.
