HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Lady Panthers finish 3-1 in Queen of the Commonwealth

Pikeville standouts Trinity Rowe and Kyera Thornsbury led the Lady Panthers in scoring during a 55-45 win over Owensboro Catholic in the final game of the Queen of the Commonwealth Tournament which wrapped up at Bullitt East High School on Thursday.

Rowe tossed in 20 points and Thornsbury added 16 as Pikeville wrapped up play with a 3-1 record.

The Lady Panthers are now 5-2 on the season.

Pikeville’s Kristen Whited had a big game as the Lady Panthers defeated Meade County, 60-51, in a game played on Wednesday.

Whited led the way with 16 points while Kyera Thornsbury tallied 14. Leighan Jackson net 12 and Jenna Sparks added nine.

Pikeville struggled offensively for the better part of three quarters and dropped a 54-37 outcome to Bowling Green in a game played on Tuesday.

Trinity Rowe led the Lady Panthers with 15 points and Kyera Thornsbury finished with 10.

Pikeville took control early on and cruised to a 68-34 victory over Mercer County in the tournament opener played on Monday.

Jenna Sparks, Kyera Thornsbury and Rylee Theiss tossed in 12 points each to lead the way.

Kristen Whited followed with 10 and Trinity Rowe chipped in eight.
