HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Pikeville maintains No. 1 ranking in Super 7 poll

The Pikeville Panthers remained the No. 1 ranked boys’ basketball team in the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 poll released on Tuesday.

The Panthers are now 19-1 after winning the school’s first-ever All “A” Classic state tournament in Richmond over the weekend.

Logan, now 12-0, holds a solid grip on the No. 2 position. The Wildcats are followed by Paintsville (13-4) at No. 3.

Lawrence County (19-4) is fourth, followed by Man (11-2) is at No. 5.

Rounding out the poll are Betsy Layne (14-6) and Johnson Central (10-7) at No. 6 and 7.

Receiving votes this week are Martin County, East Ridge, Belfry, Pike Central, and Shelby Valley.
