HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Belfry beats Bell; back in state semifinals

Belfry went on the road to Log Mountain and cut down Bell County for the third straight post-season, beating the Bobcats, 41-20, in the Class 3A regional title game played at Coach Dudley Hilton Field on Friday night.

Running back Isaac Dixon had 177 yards and three touchdowns as the Pirates climbed above .500 for the first time this season at 7-6. Belfry has won seven of their last eight games.

Zayne Hatfield added 82 yards and a touchdown while Dre Young, in his return, followed with 75 yards and a score. Braxton Hatfield rushed for a touchdown.

Belfry will play at East Carter (11-3) on Nov. 26. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
