HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Belfry cruises to big road win at Estill County

Belfry dominated from the opening kickoff as the Pirates steamrolled past Estill County, 49-7, in a district road game played in Irvine on Friday night.

Caden Woolum ran 47 yards for the game’s first points; followed with a 27-yard pick six; and hauled in a 76-yard scoring pass play to push the lead to 21-0.

Running backs Ace Caudill, Hunter Hylton and JB Woolum added rushing touchdowns, along with quarterback Chase Varney.

JB Woolum finished with 109 yards on just two carries. Caudill’s only carry was for 54 yards.

Belfry will return to Haywood Stadium to face Powell County (1-7) this Friday. Kickoff is 7:30 pm
