Belfry controlled both sides of the line of scrimmage and the result was an impressive 49-20 win over Johnson Central in a game played at Haywood Field on Friday night.
The Pirates improved to 2-1 and beat the Golden Eagles for the first time since 2017.
Running back Caden Woolum rushed for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 15 carries. Ace Caudill added 90 yards and two rushing touchdowns on nine rushes, He also had two catches for 79 yards and a third score.
JC running back Christian Barnes had 160 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 21 carries.
Both teams will be back in action this Friday as the Golden Eagles host Breathitt County (1-2) at Jim Matney Field while the Pirates welcome Southwestern (0-2). Both games will kick at 7:30 pm.
