HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Bobcats bounce back, top Hawks

Betsy Layne quarterback Carter Parsons passed for 276 yards and three touchdowns to help power the Bobcats to a 32-21 win over Pike Central at home on Friday night.

Running back Andrew McCutcheon ran for 200 yards on 24 carries and one score. Dylon Williams added a rushing touchdown. Williams caught three passes for 135 yards and two scores.

Receiver Isaiah Allen caught 5 passes for 1-3 yards and a touchdown as the Bobcats improved to 8-1.

Central quarterback Jamere Knuckles passed for 125 yards and one touchdown and added a rushing score as the Hawks dropped their third straight game and fell to 5-4. Daymon Scammell ran 13 times for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Both teams will close out the regular season on Friday. The Bobcats go to Powell County (1-8) while the Hawks will host Paintsville (4-5). Kickoff for both is set for 7:30 pm.
