HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Caudill’s TD run lifts Pikeville past Johnson Central

Pikeville running back Blake Caudill sprinted 78 yards for the go-ahead touchdown as the Panthers slipped past Johnson Central, 2114, in the final game of the Pike County Bowl played at Hillard Howard Field on Saturday night.

Caudill rushed six times for 113 yards as the Panthers moved to 2-0.

Running back Brenden Anthony carried eight times for 87 yards and scored on TD runs of 57 and 7 yards in the opening quarter.

Johnson Central running back Logan Music finished with 58 yards on nine attempts. He scored on a two-yard run. Christian Barnes rushed 21 times for 55 yards, and he scored on a four yard run in the second quarter to knot the game at 14-all.

Both teams will return to action this weekend as the Golden Eagles (1-1) visit Belfry (1-1) in the ARH Bowl on Friday night. Kickoff is 7:30 pm. Pikeville travels to Lexington Christian (1-1) on Saturday in the LCA Bowl. Game time is 8 pm.
