HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Golden Eagles run past Pirates

Johnson Central extended its winning streak to four straight games over Belfry, beating the Pirates, 48-22, in the regular season finale played at Haywood Stadium on Friday night.

Running back Zack McCoart ran for 196 yards and three touchdowns and Matt Crum added 81 yards on the ground and three scores as the Golden Eagles moved to 8-2.

Quarterback Grant Rice added a rushing touchdown.

Belfry running back Isaac Dixon finished with 110 yards and one rushing touchdown on 14 attempts. He also hauled in an 84-yard TD pass from Caden Woolum.

Running back Cameron Varney added a late score.
