HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: GRC storms past Belfry

George Rogers Clark scored the game’s final 37 points to come from behind and beat Belfry, 53-27, in the Pike County Bowl matchup played at Haywood Field on Friday night.

Running back Caden Woolum finished with 107 yards and two touchdowns, including a 47-yard run in the opening minute of the first quarter to give the Pirates a 7-0 lead. He added a 16-yard score in the second period.

Dre Young had 55 yards on eight carries and scored on an 18-yard run. Ace Caudill totaled 89 yards on 10 rushes.

Quarterback Chase Varney passed for 74 yards. Woolum hauled in five catches for 52 yards.

Belfry will be back in action on Friday night, hosting Johnson Central in the ARH Bowl. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
