HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Hillbillies hold off furious Tug Valley comeback

Man run out to a 28-0 lead in the first half before Tug Valley nearly erased the deficit, falling in the end, 35-28, on Hall of Fame night at George Queen Memorial Field on Friday night.

The Hillbillies, now 4-5, had a pair of running backs rush for over 100 yards. Jordan Adams tallied 114 and a touchdown and Justin Grimmett added 108 yards and one score. Grimmett also had three catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Israel Canterbury passed for 185 yards and three touchdowns.

Tug Valley running back Tanner Kirk rushed 40 times for 232 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Elijah Fluty passed for 118 yards and two scores.

Receiver Tanner Urconis had two catches for 95 yards, including an 80-yard TD reception.
