HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Logan turns away Man in season opener

Logan built a 20-point halftime lead against county rival Man and held on to beat the Hillbillies, 20-7, in the season opener played at Willis/Nisbet Stadium on Thursday night. 

Quarterback Jaxon Cogar ran 26 times for 142 yards and the game’s first points. He passed for 84 yards. 

Placekicker Aiden Slack kicked a pair of field goals – 38 and 23 yards. The Wildcats returned a fumble for a score. 

Man’s only points came on a 37-yard interception return by Jacob Walls in the third quarter. 

Logan’s defense held the Hillbillies to under 100 yards. 

The Hillbillies will host Mount View on Sept. 2. Kickoff is at 7:30. The Wildcats hit the road to Sissonville on Sept. 2 for a 7 pm kick.
