HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Man rolls past Logan in season opener

Man ran out to a 22-point, first half lead and the Hillbillies went on to down county rival logan, 35-7, in the season opener played at George Queen Memorial Stadium on Friday night.

Quarterback Devon Sanders passed 80 yards and three touchdowns in his first game under center. He tossed TD passes to Lukas Haney, Kaleb Mullins, and Trey Ward.

Running back Jayden Brumfield carried 10 times for 71 yards to lead the ground game. Corey Morgan ran for two short third-quarter touchdowns.

Logan’s Caden Justice caught three passes for 71 yards and a score. Backup quarterback Drew Berry passed for 70 yards and the score. 

Both teams return to action on Friday night as the Wildcats host Sissonville at 7 pm, while the Hillbillies visit Mount View (0-1). Game time is 7:30 pm.
