The high school football season in Mingo and Logan counties has reached week five and only a single game has been played combined since the implementation of the state’s color-coded map.
Tug Valley was able to play on the road at Sherman in week one but has been sidelined since because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Mingo Central was ready to open on the road at Wyoming East before COVID outbreak at the school involving administration. It looked as though the Miners would play on week four before the county went red, halting all sports activities.
Chapmanville, Logan, and Man are not able to play until in-school classes begin. The Hillbillies were prepared to visit Wheeling Central on Friday night, but the game has been canceled.
Man was scheduled to play in Wheeling and the site was changed to Man earlier in the week. By late Tuesday night it was off again.
This Saturday night’s state map will determine if either of the counties will be able to begin play.
