HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Panthers cruise to district championship

Pikeville dominated from the opening kickoff as the Panthers rolled to a 43-7 district win over rival Hazard in a game played at Daniel Field on Friday night.

The Panthers captured the school’s 37th outright championship and improved to 6-2.

Quarterback Isaac Duty tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another. Receiver Jeb Wilkerson caught both TD.

Running back Blake Caudill had two rushing scores while Isaiah Stanley added a rushing touchdown. Caudill had 58 yards on 10 carries.

Pikeville will close out the regular season at Boyd County (5-4) on Friday. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
