HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Pikeville remains No. 1 in Super 7 poll

Pikeville was a unanimous No. 1 pick in the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 football poll released on Tuesday.

The Panthers improved to 5-0 with a 29-0 win over Belfry this past Friday night.

Johnson Central, now 3-2 following a hard-fought 22-14 home loss to Rock Creek (Md.)  Christian Academy, remains at No. 2.

The Golden Eagles are followed by Lawrence County (4-0) in third. The Bulldogs rolled past Magoffin County.

Letcher Central (3-1) remains fourth, followed by Paintsville (2-2). The Tigers vaulted in the poll after beating Knox Central on the road.

Rounding out the poll are Betsy Layne (5-0) at No. 6, followed by Logan (3-1).

Teams receiving votes were Magoffin County (3-1), Shelby Valley (2-2), East Ridge (2-2), Prestonsburg (3-2) and Man (2-1).
