HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Pikeville starts quick, rolls past Paintsville

Pikeville returned to the gridiron for the first time in a month and played like a well-groomed team, running past district rival Paintsville, 46-7, in a game played at Hillard Howard Field on Friday night.

The Panthers improved to 5-2 overall and look to win the district title on the road at Hazard (1-7) this coming Friday. The Tigers dropped to 3-5 and will host Riverview East Academy, OH on Saturday.

Running back Tayvian Boykins rushed for a pair of touchdowns. He finished with 46 yards on four carries. Blake Caudill, Jacob Brown, and quarterback Isaac Duty added a rushing TD each.

Receiver Jeb Wilkerson hauled in a touchdown pass of 28 yards. He had two catches for 40 yards.

Jeremiah Anderson and Keylon Mills recorded tackles for safeties.

Paintsville running back Crayson Lafferty ran 18 yards for the Tigers lone score.
