HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Raceland edges Pikeville in battle of Class 1A powers

Pikeville was unable to crack the endzone late in the game as Raceland held on for a 7-6 win over the Panthers at Hillard Howard Field on Friday night.

The loss dropped the Panthers to 2-2. It was the first loss to a Class 1A opponent since 2020.

Quarterback Isaac Duty passed for 167 yards and one touchdown, a 37-yard completion to Bradyn Hall, covering 38 yards.

Running back Blake Caudill rushed for 84 yards and receiver Tayvian Boykins caught seven passes for 60 yards and Jeb Wilkerson hauled in four for 64 yards.

Pikeville will travel to Pond Creek to battle Belfry (2-2) on Friday night. Kickoff from Haywood Stadium is set for 7:30 pm.
