HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Scott knocks Miners from ranks of unbeaten

The Mountain was just too high to climb.

Mingo Central fell behind by 29 points in the opening half to host Scott and the Skyhawks defeated the Miners, 50-20, at Skyhawk Stadium on Friday night.

Quarterback Chris Ross passed for 194 yards and two touchdowns – one each to Malaki Sheppard and Aiden Burke. Sheppard had three catches for 86 yards.

Running back Dylan Vance carried 15 times for 72 yards and a first-half touchdown as the Miners dropped to 5-1.

Mingo Central will travel to Point Pleasant (2-3) on Friday night. Kickoff is 7 pm.
