Defending state champions Johnson Central, Belfry and Pikeville have been tabbed the top-ranked three schools in the Mountain Top Sports’ Super 7 preseason football poll released Friday.
The Golden Eagles sit in the top spot after winning the Class 4A championship with a victory over Boyle County. Belfry claims the No. 2 spot after knocking off Bell County in the Class 3A title game.
Pikeville is third. The Panthers cruised past Paintsville to win the Class 1A championship.
Johnson Central and Pikeville finished 2019 undefeated.
Shelby Valley is fourth. The Wildcats are followed by Paintsville at No. 5. Rounding out the poll are Martin County and Pike Central.
