With West Virginia slowly beginning to open up from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mingo and Logan County boards of education have taken steps to keep student athletes safe during the summer months ahead.
Both school boards have moved the sanctioned WVSSAC’s three week summer practice period from next month to July.
Mingo County athletes will be able to practice July 13-31, unless social distancing guidelines don’t allow it to take place.
Logan County set its dates for July 6-25.
Teams will have time to schedule practice games against each other.
The three-week period gives coaches the time needed to prepare their players for the upcoming season ahead of the regular August practice dates.
