HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Belfry edges Pikeville; Lady Blackcats roll past Dores

Belfry’s Thomas Slone scored the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute to lift the Pirates to a 4-3 win over Pikeville in a match played at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Slone finished with two goals as Belfry moved to 1-1-0. Aiden McCoy and Isaac Elia added one goal each. Jasper McCoy assisted on three goals.

Aaron Chang had two goals for the Panthers, now 1-4. Thomas Cranney added one goal. Noah Howie had one assist.

Belfry goalkeeper Makaden Maynard finished with 11 assists. Pikeville’s Bryson Collins stopped five shots.

Prestonsburg ran its record to 6-0 with an impressive 13-0 win over Perry Central in a match played at StoneCrest Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Sophie Stephens scored four goals and assisted on ne while Anna Burchett totaled three scores and three assists.

Kadynce Hackworth finished with three goals and a pair of assists. Emily Burchett scored twice, and Savannah Lafferty added one goal.

Lauren Patton and Chloe Collins each had one assist.

Goalkeepers Crystal Allen and Lindsey Stratton combined to record the shutout.

Martin County traveled to Nitro for a matchup with the Lady Wildcats and fell, 5-1, in a match played on Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Gauze scored off an assist by Hailey Damron for the Lady Cardinals only score.

Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher had six saves as Martin County dropped to 1-3-0.

Paintsville went on the road to Estill County and came up short, falling 3-2 to the Lady Engineers in a match played on Tuesday.
