HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Bulldogs, Tomcats battle to 2-2 tie; Lady Cards blank Belfry

Lawrence County goalkeeper Trenton Adkins finished with 18 saves to help the Bulldogs earn a 2-2 tie with Ashland Blazer in a road match played on Tuesday night.

Luke Johnson and Blake Maynard scored one goal apiece for Lawrence County, now 2-0-1. Sam LeFever added an assist.

Luke Stahler and Parker Miller had one goal each for the Tomcats, now 1-1-1.

Johnson Central and Perry Central battled to a 2-2 tie in a matchup played in Hazard on Tuesday night.

Sawyer Crum had both goals for the Golden Eagles, now 3-0-1.

Martin County’s Bobby Hale and Logan Cline scored a pair of goals each to power the Cardinals to a 7-0 win over Belfry, in a match played on the soggy turf at The Rock on Tuesday night.

Reese Merrill and Isaiah Zuidema followed with one goal apiece and two saves as Martin County improved to 2-1.

Jestin Barker added one goal and Caleb Horn had three assists.

Ethan Frey, Conner Mills, and Merrill combined on the shutout.

Sophia McCoy followed with three goals and one assist while Caitlyn Horn netted two goals.

Hailey Damron and Laura Hall each scored and assisted on one goal. Lena Hale added an assist.

Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher recorded the shutout as Martin County moved to 1-1.

Prestonsburg’s Anna Burchett scored all four goals as the Lady Blackcats went on the road to Cannonsburg and beat Boyd County, 4-0, in a match played on Tuesday night.

Sophie Stephens added an assist as Prestonsburg improved to 4-0.

Goalkeepers Crystal Allen and Lindsey Stratton combined to shut out the Lady Lions.

Goalkeeper Larren Collins allowed just a single goal to Faith Newsome as the Lady Cats dropped to 0-3. McKenna Caudill finished with 18 saves in the loss.
