HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Pikeville, Belfry boys top Paintsville

Pikeville’s Trey Hancock scored a pair of goals and Keyton Looney added another as the Panthers knocked off Paintsville, 3-1, in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Saturday. 

Goalkeeper Bryson Collins had four stops.

Paintsville……1 

Belfry built a three-goal halftime lead against Paintsville and cruised to a 6-1 win at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Thursday night. 

Aiden McCoy had a pair of goals and assisted on three others. Isaac Elia added two goals while Tucker Slone and Nick Savage added one each. 

Paintsville’s only goal came on John Zaidon’s corner kick which went straight to the goal. 

Belfry had 18 shots on goal while the Tigers were limited to just five shots. Goalkeeper Makaden Maynard had three saves in the win. Jack Johnson stopped six for Paintsville.

Lawrence County….2 

Russell’s Jeison Benitez-Ramires scored two goals as the Red Devils doubled up Lawrence County, 4-2, in a match played at Louisa on Thursday night. 

Sam Lefever and Blake Maynard each had an unassisted goal in the loss. 

Goalkeeper Ryland Brady stopped eight shots on goal. 

Martin County…..10 

Pike Central……….0 

Martin County went on the road to the Hawks Nest and blanked Pike Central, 10-0, in a match played on Thursday night. 

Laura Hale scored four goals and assisted on two others. Lena Hale added two goals. Sophia McCoy scored a goal and assisted on five others. 

Caitlyn Horn, Emilia Ek, and Hailey Damron scored one goal apiece. 

Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher recorded the shutout.

Pikeville standout Rylee Theiss scored two goals to lift the Lady Panthers to a 2-1 win over Belfry in a home match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Thursday night.  

Leighan Jakson had an assist and goalkeeper Larren Collins finished with 12 saves. 

Myra Bevins scored an unassisted goal in the loss. Goalie Jazzy Cline had 13 saves. 

Prestonsburg…..10 

Letcher Central….0 

Prestonsburg standout Anna Burchett scored four goals and assisted on four others as the Lady Blackcats went on the road and beat Letcher Central, 10-0, in a match played at Cougar Field on Thursday night. 

Sophie Stephens finished with four goals while Emily Burchett and Jade Fitzpatrick net one each and assisted on one as well.
