HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Pikeville tops LCC; JC, P’burg girls post wins

Pikeville’s goalkeeper Bryson Collins stopped 14 shots between the pipes as the Panthers defeated Letcher Central, 4-2, on a match played at Cougar Field on Monday night. 

Colin Keene had a pair of goals while Jacob Rogers and Keyton Looney added one each. 

William Bolling and Nathan Kiser net one goal apiece for the Cougars. 

Goalkeeper Nate Cook finished with 16 saves.

Johnson Central’s Lakin Bentley scored a pair of goals to help the Lady Eagles edge Estill County, 3-2, in a match played on Monday night. 

Brooklyn Ousley added one goal and one assist. Goalkeeper Abigail Ramey had five saves. 

Letcher Central…..3

Letcher Central control the tempo as the Lady Cougars blanked Pikeville, 3-0, in a match played at Cougar Field on Monday night. 

Kylee Banks, Chloe Webb, and Kelsey Goins scored one goal each. Goalie Kara Breeding stopped five shots. 

Pikeville goalkeeper Larren Collins finished with 16 saves. 

Prestonsburg…..8 

West Carter…….1 

Prestonsburg standout Anna Burchett scored four goals and added an assist as the Lady Blackcats rolled to an 8-1 win over West Carter in a match played at StoneCrest Soccer Complex on Monday night. 

Sophie Stephens added two goals and two assists. Emily Burchett and Maggie Nelson scored one goal each. 

Goalkeeper Lindsey Stratton allowed just one goal and finished with four saves.
