The Prestonsburg boys’ and girls’ soccer teams punched their tickets to the All A Classic state tournament Elite 8 with sectional championship wins on Saturday.
Blackcat Matt Burchett scored three goals and assisted on two others in a 6-0 victory over host Menifee County. Max Jarvis, Bryan Amador, and Isaiah Collins added one goal each.
Goalkeeper Ryan Rankin recorded the shutout as Prestonsburg improved to 14-1.
The Lady Blackcats ran their record to 13-0 with a 5-0 win at West Carter.
Anna Burchett scored all five goals. Chloe Collins and Madison Hicks had one assist each.
Goalkeepers Crystal Allen and Lindsey Stratton combined on the shutout.
