HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Bat Kats beat Lady Panthers

Shelby Valley scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and the Bat Kats went on to beat Pikeville, 6-2, in a game played at Robinson Creek on Thursday night.

Winning  pitcher Emily Adkins helped her own cause with a home run, single and three runs scored. Kyra Looney had two hits and batted in a pair of runs.

Riley Fleming singled, walked, and drove in one run while Makenna Adkins and Hunter Adkins both singled and scored.

Pikeville catcher Ginna Jones blasted a solo home run and scored both runs for the Lady Panthers. Gracie Hall added an RBI single.

Izzi Rose, Cassidy Slater, and Shana Ray added singles.

Lexie Akers was tagged with the loss.
