A new 15th Region All “A” Classic softball champion will be crowned after Shelby Valley edged Pikeville, 3-2, in the semifinal matchup played at Robinson Creek on Thursday night.
Kyra Looney hit into a fielder’s choice which brought home the tying and winning runs for the Bat Kats.
Riley Fleming had three hits and scored once.
Pikeville’s Ginna Jones hit a solo home run in the fourth and losing pitcher Emily Ford doubled in a run in the fifth.
Emily Adkins came on in relief of Lily Napier and was the winning pitcher.
Valley will face Paintsville after the Lady Tigers beat Jenkins, 18-2, in five innings.
Ashley Wells had four hits and drove in four runs while Carrigan Ratliff hit a home run.
Laney Bledsoe added three hits, scored three runs, and batted in three. Chessa Collins collected three hits and scored three runs.
Molly Music was the winning pitcher.
