HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Lady Billies drop opener at Wahama; Look to force deciding game three tonight

Man ace pitcher Morgan Cooper made one mistakes in the Class A, Region IV championship series opener at Wahama on Tuesday night and it was the difference in the outcome.

Emma Gibbs belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead the White Falcons to a 2-0 win over the Lady Billies. Winning pitcher Mikie Lieving scored ahead of Gibbs.

Man was held to just five hits, including a leadoff double by Cooper in the first inning but she was left stranded.

Ashlee Tomblin, Kiersten Ellis, Olivia Ramsey and Kalilla Collins each singled.

Game two is set for 6 p.m. tonight at Man. If the Lady Billies win it will force a game three Thursday back in Mason County.
