HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Lady Dawgs rally past Pikeville in 9 innings

Lawrence County’s Shelby Blevins had a pair of two-run doubles, including one in the sixth inning to tie the game and eventually led to a 7-4 win over Pikeville in a game played at Myers Field on Thursday night.

Her second came in a five-run, ninth, helping the Lady Dawgs to improve to 5-1. Grace Preece added two doubles and scored once while Dani Crum singled in one run and scored. Kensley Feltner doubled off the top of the fence in right-centerfield, walked and scored twice,

Taylor Blevins was the winning pitcher..

Izzy Rose doubled and singled, driving in two runs in the loss as the Lady Panthers dropped to 2-2. Losing pitcher Emily Ford had two hits, including a double, walked, and batted in one run.

Ginna Jones singled, walked twice, and scored two runs while Cassidy Slater walked, had a pair of sacrifice bunts, and added an RBI.
