HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Lady Panthers club East Ridge; Bat Kats nip Tug

Pikeville erupted for 22 hits and scored 11 runs in the seventh inning to blank east Ridge, 18-0, in the 59th District game played on the Reservation on Tuesday night.

Ginna Jones blasted a home run, doubled twice, singled, drove in four runs and scored twice. Shana Ray added three hits, including a double, walked, scored four runs, and knocked in four.

Caroline Brown belted a home run, singled two times, scored three runs and batted in three. Gracie Hall was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. She drove in two runs and scored.

Cassidy Slater doubled and singled, scored a pair of runs and drove in two. Izzi Rose was the winning pitcher.

Savannah Baldridge suffered the loss.

Shelby Valley’s Riley Fleming scored on a pass ball in the fourth inning and winning pitcher Lillie Blackburn made it stand up as the Bat Kats nipped Tug Valley, 1-0, in a game played at Bob Brewer Field on Tuesday night.

Fleming had singled to centerfield to open the fourth.

Emily Adkins, Hunter Adkins, and Kyra Looney added base hits.

Amelya Wellman had a double and single in the loss while Bailee Hall tripled.

Kinna Justice took the loss.
