HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Pikeville drops road game at Magoffin County; LCC, JC roll

Magoffin County pitcher Jaden Williams blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the Lady Hornets ahead for good in an 8-5 win over Pikeville in a game played in Salyersville on Monday.

Williams added a sacrifice fly, walked, and knocked in five runs.

Jaylynn Lafferty singled, walked and added a pair od RBIs. Rylie Castle had two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Katie Carty singled twice and scored twice.

Caroline Brown led the Lady Panthers with three hits, including a pair of doubles, and scored a pair of runs. Shana Ray had two hits, walked, scored, and batted in one run.

Cassidy Slater and Larren Collins added RBI singles. Lexie Akers was tagged with the loss.

At Salyersville

Johnson Central scored eight runs in the first inning and made quick work of Martin County, rolling to a 15-0 mercy rule win in three innings on Monday night.

Carrigan Ratliff singled, drove in four runs and scored two while Mayson Delong doubled and singled, scored once and batted in three.

Adyson Burchett tripled and singled, scored one run and added a pair of RBIs. Keelee Blair added two singles, walked, drove in three runs, and scored two.

Winning pitcher Maddy Vaughn did not allow a hit. Zoie Hinkle took the loss.

Elena Goble doubled and singled, walked, batted in a pair of runs and scored two runs. Tiffany Risner added three hits, scored a pair of runs and added an RBI.
