MINGO COUNTY ROUNDUP: Tug Valley, Mingo Central score big wins

Tug Valley won its second straight game and first on the road as the Panthers steamrolled past Sherman, 32-8, in a game played ay Zontini Field in Seth on Friday night.

Quarterback Elijah Fluty guided the Tug Valley offense to 429 yards. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Fluty rushed for two scores.

Running back Adam Slone ran for 164 yards and one touchdown. Brady Brewer hauled in four passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. Tanner Urconis caught a 10-tard scoring pass.

Tug Valley will play at Symmes Valley, OH (1-2) on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm.

Mingo Central took a 14-point halftime lead at Westside in the opening half and the Miners pulled away to score a 56-6 win at The Burial Ground on Friday night.

Quarterback Chris Ross ran for 136 yards and three touchdowns in the season opener. Running back Dylan Vance carried 13 times for 233 yards and four touchdowns. He also hauled in a 42-yard pass for a fifth score.

The Miners will return home to “The Buck” to host Pont Pleasant (1-1) on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
