Floyd Central senior shortstop Jacob Bentley hit a three-run in the top of the third inning and the Jaguars made it stand up in a 3-1 upset win over Lawrence County in the 58th District championship game played on Wednesday night.
Winning pitcher Logan Moore went the distance as Floyd Central won the title for the first time in school history.
Logan Meade and Nick Rackey both doubled. Max Martin walked twice and scored.
Abner Collinsworth had an RBI single, scoring Eli Fletcher, who walked.
Will Lafferty was the losing pitcher.

Lawrence County’s Hensley Feltner blasted a pair of home runs to power the Lady Bulldogs to a 16-1, mercy-rule win over Floyd Central in the title game played on Wednesday night.
Shelby Blevins doubled in one run and scored. Ella Fitzpatrick had an RBI single and scored while winning pitcher Taylor Blevins singled and batted in two runs.
Ella Smith singled and knocked in two runs. Dani Crum added two hits, scored two times and added an RBI. Bree Jones singled twice and scored both times.
Brooklyn Lewis singled in the lone Floyd Central run, scoring Logan Meade.
