Lawrence County scored 10 runs over the final three innings and the Lady Bulldogs claimed the 58th District tournament championship with a 12-2 win over Floyd Central in a game played on Wednesday night.
Shelby Blevins doubled and singled while driving in three runs as the Lady Bulldogs moved to a region best 28-6.
Danielle Crum doubled, singled, batted in three runs and scored twice while Bree Jones collected four hits, scored a pair, and added an RBI.
Kensley Feltner had two hits, including a double, walked, scored two runs, and drove in another. Abby Nelson doubled, singled, walked, batted in one run, and scored. Abby Maynard added two singles and batted in one run.
Taylor Blevins was the winning pitcher.
Chelsea Johnson paced the Lady Jaguars, who fell to 14-17, with a double, single, and one run batted in. Chanda Caudill added an RBI single and scored. Allyson Stumbo singled and scored.
Cadyn Roberson was the losing pitcher.
Both teams now move on to the 15th Region tournament next week at Belfry.
