60TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Pike Central claims second straight title

Pike County Centralovercame a sluggish start to pull away from Belfry in the second half and win the boys’ 60th District tournament championship for the second straight year, 58-40, at Goody on Thursday night.

Jaylan Rigdon poured in a game-high 28 points, including 21 in the second half, as the Hawks improved to 20-8, and advanced to the 15th Region tournament as a number one seed.

Cody Erwin paced the Pirates with 15 points. The Pirates dropped to 9-23. Belfry will be a number two seed.
