COLLEGE BASEBALL: Bears earn doubleheader split at Montreat

The University of Pikeville baseball Bears scored three runs in the first inning and made them hold up in a 4-1 win over Montreat (NC) in the second game of a doubleheader played on Tuesday.

Darius Bomer had two hits, scored, and drove in one run as the Bears moved to 1-4. Tyler Maynard doubled and scored.

Ethan Cernohous was the winning pitcher.

UPIKE dropped the opener, 5-3.

Eduardo Bello had three hits and knocked in a pair of runs. Noah Helton added two hits and scored twice. Jared Kirkman collected two hits and scored.

Nolan Fernandes took the loss.
