The University of Pikeville bears completed a doubleheader sweep of Toccoa Falls College, taking Sunday’s nightcap, 9-5, in a game played at Johnnie Lemaster Field.
UPIKE, now 2-2, took the opener, 8-7, in 10 innings.
In the nightcap, Tyler Maynard singled, walked, scored two runs, and drove in three. Samuel Torres singled in a pair of runs and walked twice.
Kyle Williams tripled, scored, and added an RBI. Ryan Sartin singled, walked twice and scored a pair of runs.
In the opener, Noah Helton blasted a home run, doubled scored three runs and drove in two. Cam Revolt collected three hits, batted in one run, and scored.
Toccoa Falls College opened the weekend series with an 11-5 win over the Bears on Friday.
Helton belted a pair of home runs and knocked in three runs. Greg Lile added a solo home run while Kyle Williams and Sartin singled and scored.
The Bears will host Johnson University (0-7) on Tuesday. First pitch is 2 pm.
