COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Bears slip past No. 20 Thomas More

University of Pikeville’s Jacob Brown scored on a put back to give the Bears the lead in the closing seconds and Christian Sweazie nailed two free throws following a technical to seal an 82-79 win over No. 20 Thomas More at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday.

Malcolm Green led four Bears in double figures with 20 points as UPIKE evened its record at 10-10. Jamir Simpson and Korbin Spencer finished with 16 apiece while Jordan Perry added 14.

The Bears will host Cumberland’s at 6 pm tonight at home.
