COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Stamper, Englert lead Bears past Midway

The University of Pikeville women’s basketball Bears went on the road to Midway for a non-conference game on Monday night.

Sophomore Morgan Stamper fired in 33 points, including seven in the closing seconds, and grabbed 22 rebounds as UPIKE slipped past the Eagles, 87-79. Mary Englert followed with 24 points and nine boards as the Bears moved to 2-0.

The Bears will next host Campbellsville on Thursday night at the Appalachian Wireless Arena. Game time is 6 pm.
