COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE men top LWC; Women fall in shootout

The University of Pikeville men’s basketball Bears went on the road Monday and scored a big 66-54 win over host Lindsey Wilson College.

UPIKE improved to 14-4 overall and the Bears are now 7-3 in Mid-South Conference games.

Maurice Dickson led a trio of Bears in double-figure scoring with 17 points while Kenyon Duling added 16. Jacob Brown tallied 11.

Meanwhile, the women came up short, falling 88-84 to the Raiders in a shootout.

Mary Englert poured in 31 points as the Bears fell to 10-9 overall.

Bailey Frazier finished with 17 and Sierra Feltner net 13.

Both teams return to action on Thursday night when they visit Georgetown college.
