COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE men, women drop road games

The University of Pikeville Bears fell to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College in the Mid-South Conference road opener, 79-76, in a game played on Thursday night.

Jordan Perry led a balanced UPIKE (1-1) scoring attack with 16 points and Taevon Horton followed with 15. Malcolm Green net 14 while Jacob Brown and Christian Sweazie tossed in 12 each.

UPIKE will return to action Saturday at Cumberland University. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

A sluggish fourth period proved to be UPIKE’s undoing as the Bears dropped a Mid-South Conference road game to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College on Thursday night.

Sierra Feltner led the offensive attack with 21 points. She was joined in double figures by Brianna Burbridge who netted 14.

The Bears will return to action Saturday at Bethel. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
