COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE women fall in New Year’s Eve road game

University of Pikeville’s women Bears showed signs early on of not having played for 12 days as the struggled from the outset in a 67-51 loss to No. 8 and unbeaten Thomas More on the road New Year’s Eve.

The loss dropped the Bears to 6-3 while the Saints improved to 9-0.

Morgan Stamper was the lone UPIKE player to net in double figures with q0 points. Sierra Feltner and Bailey Frazier tossed in eight apiece.

UPIKE will return to the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Jan. 4 to host University of Cumberlands (7-1) in a 5:30 pm tip.
