COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Women work OT for home win

The University of Pikeville women Bears worked overtime to score an 84-77 win over Martin Methodist (Tenn.) in a game played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday.

The Bears moved to 11-5 overall and 7-5 in Mid-South Conference play while winning their second straight game.

Brianna Burbridge had a big game, finishing with 23 points and 17 rebounds for her 11thdouble-double this season.

Three other UPIKE players scored in double figures, led by Alexis Reed’s 20 points. Sierra Feltner followed with 16 and Mary Englert added 11.

UPIKE is back in action on Thursday at Campbellsville. The game tips at 5:30 pm.
