COLLEGE FOOTBALL: UPIKE holds off Faulkner

The University of Pikeville kept Faulkner University out of the endzone over the final 14 minutes to escape with a 24-20 win at the Hambley Athletic Complex on Saturday.

UPIKE snapped a two-game losing streak and moved to 2-2 heading into the bye week.

Running back Alex Sanders rushed for 121 yards and the go-ahead touchdown early in the third quarter.

Quarterback Lee Kirkland passed for two, first-half touchdowns. He passed for 224 yards, completing 23-of-29.

Receiver Ben Henson caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Bralin Barton added a TD reception.

UPIKE ill next face Union College (1-2) on Sept. 30. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
