University of Pikeville senior Boo Newsome earned a fifth-place finish and helped lead her team a third-place showing in the Roger Merb Invitational Tournament.
Newsome had rounds of 81 and 82 to lead the Bears who shot 712 as a team. She finished two strokes out of fourth place and was named to the all-tournament team.
UPIKE shot 356 as a team each day.
Gabriel Blankenship had a final round of 83, three shots better than opening day. Freshman Emily Brown grabbed a top 20 finish in her UPIKE debut.
The Bears are back in action at the MSC Fall Invitational in Bowling Green on Oct. 30.
