Floyd Central delivered the wake up call on Friday night and Lawrence County answered.
The Bulldogs snapped a 21-all, halftime tie early in the second half and went on to beat the Jaguars, 49-28, in the district matchup played at Jaguars Field on Friday night.
Lawrence County had three running back rush for over 100 yards while improving to 8-1 overall. Cody Crum ran for 177 yards and two touchdowns; Dylan Ferguson added 120 yards and three scores; and Ryan Marcum rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown.
Logan Ratliff added a TD reception from quarterback Talan Pollock.
Floyd Central quarterback Max Martin and running backs Sheston Johnson and Blake Adams each had a rushing touchdown as the Jaguars dropped to 0-9. Martin rushed for 83 yards.
Both teams will return to action on Friday night. Lawrence County will host Raceland (8-1) while the Jaguars play at Betsy Layne (5-4). Both games will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
