HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Cougars rally from big deficit to stun Davy Crockett

Letcher Central erased a 21-point, first-half deficit and rallied to beat Davy Crockett (Tenn.), 26-24, in a thriller played at Cougar Field on Friday night.

Quarterback Carson Adams ran for 153 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown and passed for 109 yards as Central improved to 2-0. He also added a pair of two-point conversion runs.

Running backs Isaac Matthews and Hayden Brashear each had a rushing touchdown.

Jackson Meade recorded a safety which was a big play in the second half.

The Cougars will host Pikeville on Friday night. Kickoff is 7:30 pm. The game with Pike Central was canceled because of COVID restrictions involving the Hawks.
